Nestled in the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains lies the area's newest premier equestrian facility, catering to horses of all types and riders of all levels.
We are confident we can take the best care of your equine partner, developing a custom-tailored program for you both to become one. Our confidence is drawn from over thirty years of professional experience, and a secure, deep understanding of the classical dressage principles, a wealth of knowledge in the areas of both human and equine nutrition and conditioning, as well as a working knowledge of equine behavior and psychology. We take an all-encompassing approach to training and teach riders about their responsibilities to their horses and themselves to achieve optimum performance.
Our all-inclusive approach helps both horse and rider develop a winning attitude, both when competing and in life.
Young riders will learn a sense of responsibility; they will build confidence from setting and achieving attainable goals; they will learn to take care of themselves by keeping fit and active, and by seeing first hand the effects of good nutrition on their horses.
Adult riders will benefit physically, cognitively, emotionally and psychologically from the experience of riding, grooming and connecting with horses. It's never too late to discover the fascinating world of equestrian sport. Challenging both physically and cognitively, it may be the most exciting endeavor one can take on, but also the most rewarding.
For professionals and serious competitors, we offer a wonderful place to reconnect with your horse, to refresh your knowledge and skills, ultimately fine-tuning your performance with better and better communication. Having a happy, healthy horse given the tools of optimum nutrition, top-notch care, correct muscle development, and a pleasant work environment can only achieve optimum results.
We boast lovely facilities with an indoor arena, a regulation outdoor arena, a heated viewing lounge, a hot/cold water indoor wash stall, and plenty of lovely, rolling pasture. Every stall has a Dutch door which opens to properly excavated dry lots, and turnout options are customized to your horse's needs.
We have a variety of feeds and combine them to completely meet your horse's individual optimum nutrition needs. All of our hay is tested, so we can properly balance your horse's diet. "Special" diets are no problem; we have horses with metabolic "issues" so we understand.
We have a few horses for sale, and we will guarantee they will be honestly represented and shown. Special consideration will be made for horses sold and kept in training here at Misty Meadows.
A variety of training, lesson and boarding packages are available as well as "concierge" services, such as blanketing, clipping, boots for turn-out, etc.
We have school masters available for lessons, or you can bring your own horse. (All horses trailering in for lessons or to move here MUST have a current negative Coggins test and health certificate, as well as vaccination records to be unloaded off the trailer.)
We have a wonderful vet and farrier, but you are welcome to have whomever your choose to work on your horse.
You are welcome to stop by any day, Monday-Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Please phone 706-968-6421 to let us know you are on your way. Boarders can have complete access to their horses anytime, but the arena lights are off at 10 PM Monday-Friday and at 6 PM Saturday and Sunday.
